Sometime between Wednesday, July 24, in the evening to Thursday morning, July 25, suspects committed a number of burglaries and an arson to property in the City of Beloit and the Town of Turtle.
The first burglary occurred at the Beloit College at the location on Church Street where a utility shed was entered. Taken was a Kabota orange and black UTV (Utility Task Vehicle), gas cans and a lawn mower. The lawn mower was recovered in the 1000 block of Church Street. It is likely that the suspects then went to the Meri-J-Ranch on Colley Road, forced a door of a building and took property.
The suspects then proceeded to the Springbrook Mobile Homes, also on Colley Road, forced open a shed and took property, including gas cans. The suspects then went to the parking lot of Central Christian Church at Milwaukee and Willowbrook roads, where the gas cans were set ablaze causing damage to the asphalt parking lot.
We believe that the suspects were driving on the paved roads as the moved around the southeast part of the City of Beloit and Town of Turtle, and potentially may have entered into South Beloit in Illinois.
Anyone seeing a Kabota orange and black UTV(similar to an ATV), please contact the Beloit Police Department. There is a high potential that the UTV has been abandoned within this area.
If you have information regarding this, or any crimes, please contact Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 362-7463
