Fog is expected across much of the area through mid-morning.
Some pockets of dense fog are possible at times.
If traveling this morning, be prepared for quick reductions in visibility.
A variety of weather hazards could cause difficult travel conditions in spots at times through Saturday morning. Here’s an overview:
• Wet snow through tonight, with amounts of a coating to up to ~1″, highest I-88 and south interior northern IL. Localized amounts >1″ are possible over parts of north central IL.
Visibility under 1 mile at times in moderate snow.
• Freezing drizzle is possible for interior northern IL late tonight into Saturday morning.
• Patchy dense fog (visibility 1/4 mile or less) is possible area wide late tonight into Saturday morning.
The wet snow and/or freezing drizzle could cause slick spots on some roads outside of the city of Chicago. In addition, once again expect periods of poor visibility in snow/drizzle/fog into Saturday morning.
If you will be out driving through Saturday morning, be alert and slow down.
