UPDATE: We bring you some sad news this morning, This is now a murder investigation. The victim is now confirmed dead.
Sources are reporting a scene on the West side.
It happened around 6:30 am near Church and Brown.
Reports that there is 1 shooting victim on location.
Sources have reported to us the victim is reported to have been shot multiple times in the head, shoulder, neck.
The victim has life threatening injuries and emergency personnel were performing life saving measures on the victim.
Sources have told us around the time of the shooting, there was shots fired then some yelling then some more gunshots.
A sedan and a van may be involved and were allegedly shooting at each other.
Police have not released any suspect information.

Rockford PD is investigating a shooting near the intersection of Brown and Church.
1 victim taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
