Rockford Scanner™: Man Pleads Guilty For Severely Beating A Woman in Rockford




 
Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announces that Donald P. Washington (DOB: 9/23/1982) was found guilty of Aggravated Domestic Battery and Domestic Battery after a bench trial in front of the Honorable Judge Debra Schafer on October 2nd, 2019.
On March 31st, 2019, Rockford Police Officers responded to a home in the 1400 block of Meadow Court. Upon arrival, Officers met with a female victim, who had visible injuries on her body. The victim reported that she was in a domestic relationship with the defendant Donald Washington.
On March 17th, 2019, Washington argued with the victim and beat her so severely that she was left almost unconscious.
Aggravated Domestic Battery is a Class 2 Felony that is punishable by an extended sentence of 3-14 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by four years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Domestic Battery is a Class 4 Felony that is punishable by either probation or an extended sentence of 1-6 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by four years of Mandatory Supervised Release.
Washington is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30pm on November 22nd, 2019, by the Honorable Judge Schafer in Courtroom 317.
