Rockford Scanner™: Man Crashes Into The Back Of A Semi, Is Arrested




On 11-01-20 at 7:50 PM Janesville Police responded to Humes Rd & N. Wright Rd for a traffic accident. The vehicle was called in prior to the accident by a citizen for swerving as it was traveling on Humes Rd. As the vehicle approached N. Wright Rd, it struck the rear of a semi-truck.

The driver of the car was contacted and identified as Joseph Jansen. Jansen displayed signs of impairment and failed standardized field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for operating while intoxicated. Department of transportation records show 5 prior convictions. Legal blood draw was completed and the results are pending. Jansen was transported to the Rock County jail where he awaits his initial court appearance.

Arrested: Jansen, Joseph C. age 60 of Janesville
Charge: 346.63 (1)(A) OWI 6th offense
Additional Citations: Automobile Following Too Closely
