Rockford Scanner™: Impersonating a Police Officer Arrest

On 12-15-20 at 6:27 PM Janesville Police stopped a black 2008 Chevy Impala SS driven by Blake Davis on Milton Av. at Newman St. An off-duty Janesville officer saw this vehicle displaying illegal colored flashing lights while traveling south on Milton Av.

On 12-11-20 at 6:04 PM it was reported a vehicle matching this description had red and blue lights flashing behind another vehicle and Milton Av and Humes Rd. A female driver said she thought she was being pulled over by an unmarked police vehicle initially.

The suspect then shut off the red and blue lights and pulled along the side of her vehicle and was laughing. The suspect vehicle continued south on Milton Av. The suspect was described as a w/m, early 20’s to 30 years old with brown or dark blonde hair.

The Janesville Police Department was actively following up on the original report trying to identify the suspect and vehicle. During the traffic stop Davis admitted he had color changing LED lights in his headlight housing. Davis was arrested and released with a court date.

Charge: 946.70 (1) Impersonating a Peace Officer
