Many have asked us about how police are coding violent calls as medical assists these days.
The police have even said it themselves, they label shootings, stabbings, etc… as medical assists these days, instead of an aggravated battery with a firearm like it should be labeled as.
They said if an ambulance is needed, it won’t be coded as an aggravated battery, but as a medical assist.
So many people have asked us to start doing Freedom Of Information Act requests on these.
So we just filed off our first FOIA request on this topic.
A simple request to see the total amount of medical assists calls in 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016.
(Total amount of medical assist calls in Rockford)
Heads up, the people at the FOIA office in Rockford have a habit of denying our FOIA requests for various reasons, so it is expected they will also deny this simple request as well.
But from now on, we are going to post our FOIA requests publicly when we post them. And also the results on our page at http://rockfordscanner.com/freedom-of-information-act-requests/
