Freezing drizzle is expected to develop from west to east across the area during the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning, and may result in slick roads and hazardous travel during the morning hours.
Areas along and north of I-80 are at risk of seeing at least some freezing drizzle, though areas north of a line from around Peru to Joliet IL and north to Waukegan will have the greatest chance of ice accumulation.
Temperatures will gradually warm above freezing in the hours after sunrise, which will end the threat of freezing drizzle before noon.
