At approximately 2:15 p.m., RPD Officers responded to the area of Mulford/Riverside in reference to an accident involving an ambulance. Officers learned an ambulance was transporting a patient, and traveling EB on Riverside with lights and sirens on. The ambulance slowed at the Mulford Rd intersection, but was struck by a car traveling SB that failed to yield. The 65 y/o male driver of the car and the driver of the ambulance were both transported with minor injuries. The patient was transported for his medical condition.

Reports of a Loves Park FD ambulance is involved in the accident.
