It’s Coming, Are You Ready For The Snow? Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9am to 6pm.

Snow will develop from south to north across the area this morning, then changes to light rain and drizzle through the afternoon.

The heaviest snow will fall this morning over southern sections of the area well south of I-80, and during the 11 am to 3pm timeframe north of I-80.

Wet snow accumulations of 1 to 3” are probable north of I-80 and inland from the lake, with some amounts close to 4” possible near the Wisconsin state line.

The snow will change to light rain or drizzle mid to late this afternoon.

Some fog is also likely to persist into tonight.

An active stretch of weather is expected into the New Year’s Holiday.

The area will see its first accumulating snow today, before it changes to drizzle and fog into this evening.

Another quick hitting disturbance will produce another period of wintry weather for the area Wednesday night.

Then, attention turns to the New Year’s weekend when the area could see a winter storm move across the region.

Still a lot of question marks with this one, but one we continue to watch closely.
