Just when we thought the Rockford Police Department was becoming transparent,
Darrell Erdman once again DENIES several Freedom Of Information Act requests

FOIA Note: Other Departments have APPROVED similar Freedom Of Information Act requests.

So Darrell Erdman excuse for denials is total bullshit, and is just an excuse for non-transparency of the Rockford Police Department.

Darrell Erdman from the RPD feels that DENYING our FOIA requests, would be better than being transparent…

Scroll to the bottom, to see other departments FOIA approvals on open cases.
But RPD chooses to DENY them, and be non-transparent…

Below are 3 recent Freedom Of Information Act request denials.

#1  Sources told us there was a violent scene  at the RBI bar recently.   Rockford Police confirmed they did work a scene at RBI bar, but told us we had to file a FOIA on the incident to get information.  As you can see we did exactly what RPD told us to do and filed the FOIA request, it was DENIED.

We filed a FOIA on it, to prove or disprove the information that was told to us.

And Darrell Erdman from the RPD choses to be non-transparent and denied our FOIA request.

So it appears police are going to remain tight lipped on this alleged violent crime that happened at RBI bar.
RPD confirmed working the scene, but denied our Freedom Of information Act request…  Things that make you go hmmm…

#2 A Winnebago County Corrections officer fired her gun at a 12 year old and her family, at a local Walmart.
A Winnebago County corrections officer was at a local Walmart and got into a dispute with a family while waiting in line. And went to her vehicle and waited for the 12 year old and her family to exit Walmart. As soon as the 12 year old and her family exited Walmart, the Winnebago County Corrections officer fired her gun through her drivers side door at the 12 year old and her family. Sources told us after the shooting incident, she was given the chose to quit or be fired. And she chose to quit. Officials are not releasing any information on her employment history.  Public records shows she was a Winnebago County corrections officer at the time of the incident.
Rockford PD confirmed the incident, and did release a little info on it, Click Here for the Info
but Darrell Erdman once again chooses to be NON TRANSPARENT and DENIED our Freedom Of Information Act request. Things that make you go hmmm…

#3  2 Juveniles were shot at a Rockford gas station.
RPD again did release a little info on it. Click Here for info

But when we filed a Freedom of Information Act request on it.
Guess what happened?

Yup, Darrell Erdman of the Rockford PD once again DENIED our FOIA request.
But yet other departments approve similar requests…
Things that make you go hmmm…

So much for Rockford Police Transparency, 3 FOIA Denials…

Just to show you other departments DO approve FOIA requests on OPEN cases.
Here is a FOIA on a recent OPEN case in Winnebago County.
Again, this one below is just to show you other departments DO approve FOIA request on open cases.
