Alabama man was charged with an armed robbery in Rockton

A 20 year-old Alabama man was charged with armed robbery at the BP gas station, located at 629 N. Blackhawk, Rockton, IL on July 5th, 2020.

Rockton Police responded to the scene after the uninjured employee alleged that she was robbed at gunpoint and currency was taken from the cash register.

Officers from Rockton Police Department, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies and K9, Illinois State Police, Roscoe Police Department and South Beloit Police Department responded to search the area for the suspect who managed to avoid capture.
A Winnebago County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Technician assisted with processing the robbery scene for evidence. After a lengthy investigation, a person of interest was recently identified.

Tre’Various Lee of Phenix City, AL, 20 years old, is charged with ARMED ROBBERY WITH FIREARM (Class X Felony), AGGRAVATED ROBBERY (Class 1 Felony) and UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPON BY A FELON (Class 3 Felony).
Tre’Various Lee is currently in custody at the Muscogee County Jail in Columbus, GA.
Mr. Lee is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
