The stolen vehicle and the SUV the suspects were in.
Were traveling together on N Main.
The SUV crashed and the driver fled on foot.
Police were able to apprehend Javion Morehead.
And recovered a loaded firearm that was modified.
The victim’s vehicle was recovered near Day and Mulberry.
Police charged Javion Morehead with multiple crimes.

Police saying our community does NOT need to know
First and foremost our local police still continue to hide
these extremely violent crimes from our community.
And told us to file FOIA requests.
Which takes 21 BUSINESS DAYS to get back.
IMAGINE HOW MANY MORE VIOLENT CRIMES THESE SUSPECTS
ARE GOING TO COMMIT IN THE NEXT 21 BUSINESS DAYS.
BEFORE any info. is released…..
Instead of open communication and transparency from local police.
Which could capture the suspects very quickly…
Sources are reporting that suspects stabbed a driver and stole their vehicle
This morning in the 5200 block of Wilderness Trail.
Again, police choose not to release any information or descriptions.
Police call logs confirm the carjacking, but not the stabbing.

On Saturday, September 21, 2024, at
approximately 3:40 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 5200 block of
Wilderness Trail for a report of a vehicular hijacking. Officers were advised that as two
adult females were parked and in their vehicle they observed an SUV slowly drive past.
Once the SUV passed them, they got out of their car and two black males approached
them with guns and demanded the vehicle. A short time later, Winnebago County
Sheriff’s Deputies located the stolen vehicle and the SUV traveling together. The SUV
ultimately crashed in the 3100 block of Main Street and the driver ran off. After a short
foot chase, the driver of the SUV, later identified as Javion Morehead, was detained and a
loaded gun with an automatic switch was recovered.
The victim’s vehicle was located abandoned a short time later near Day and Mulberry.
After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charges listed below.
Javion Morehead, 19, Rockford
Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking
Armed Robbery
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Unlawful Use of a Weapon – Machine Gun
No Valid FOID
The charges are merely accusations, and all individuals are considered innocent unless
proven guilty in a court of law.
