On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m.,
Rockford Police SCOPE officers attempted to conduct a traffic
stop in the 3100 block of Parkside Avenue when the vehicle drove off. A few minutes
later the vehicle was observed near Glenwood Avenue and officers observed the driver,
Javar Davis-Puckett, run off. After a brief foot chase and struggle, SCOPE officers took
him into custody and he was ultimately lodged in the County Jail. SCOPE officers also
located and recovered over 400 grams of cannabis, over 28 grams of cocaine, and
multiple Ecstasy tablets.
After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charges listed below.
Javar Davis-Puckett, 35, Rockford
Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis
Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Fleeing to Elude
Resisting Arrest
Various Traffic Citations
