Dear Rockford Scanner Team,

We, the concerned citizens of South Beloit, are reaching out to you with an urgent request.

The city of South Beloit is holding a city council meeting this Monday at 17:00,
and we are deeply concerned about the future of our fire department.

Originally, the city planned for the Town of Beloit to take over our fire department at an exorbitantly high price. However, it now appears that this plan may not proceed as expected. Due to the city’s inaction and negligence, we have already lost all our firefighters, putting our community at risk.

We kindly ask for your support in making this situation known to the wider community.

Your attendance at the meeting or coverage of the critical issues we face would be immensely appreciated.

Update:
The statement about South Beloit have no fire fighters and EMS staff is incorrect.
There are 7 or 8 members that have been working the while this mess has been going on.
We may not be staff as we need but we are staffed.
So whomever pass the info on was wrong on that point.
