On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at approximately 7:55p.m.,
Rockford Police SCOPE officers attempted a traffic stop near 19th Street and 16th Avenue
on a vehicle with three occupants, two adults, and a child, when the vehicle fled from officers.

A short time later, the vehicle was successfully stopped and the passenger,
Retavian Jefferson, was taken into custody on Outstanding Warrants and lodged in the
County Jail.

The driver, Tiashayla Marshall,
was issued several citations and the vehicle
was impounded.

After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office
authorized the charges listed below.

Multiple Outstanding Warrants

Tiashayla Marshall, 26, Rockford

Fleeing to Elude
Various Traffic Offenses
Child Endangerment
