At approximately 12:15 this morning emergency personnel were called to the area of Charles Street and Center Terrace for reports of a multiple vehicle accident with multiple people injured.
Initial reports are this was a three vehicle accident with one vehicle allegedly fleeing the scene. Three ambulances were dispatched with two children being transported by ambulance and one person was also said to have suffered life threatening injuries. CPR was being performed on scene and they were also then transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Avoid the area awhile as the roadway is currently being shut down.
It is unknown if police located the vehicle that fled.
We will update as further information becomes available.
Per RPD: There is a multi-vehicle accident in the 4300 block of Charles St. Injuries are reported. The area is temporarily blocked off in all directions. Please avoid this area until we clear the scene.
