On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at approximately
12:23 a.m., a Rockford Police Patrol Officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the
Auto Zone on S. Alpine. The vehicle was occupied with two juvenile females. During the
investigation, officers located and recovered open liquor and a loaded handgun with a laser light
attachment.

After a review of the facts of the case, The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized
the following charges.

Juvenile Female, 17, Rockford

(lodged in Juvenile Detention)

Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Illegal Possession/Transportation of Alcohol

Juvenile Female, 16, Rockford

Illegal Possession/Transportation of Alcohol
(released to parent/guardian)
