On Saturday,
May 25, 2024, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Rockford Police SCOPE officers located a vehicle,
reported stolen earlier, at the Mobil gas station (2605 Broadway). Two of the occupants entered
the store and were taken into custody. One of the occupants, later identified as Corey Jackson, ran
off but was taken into custody. A loaded handgun was located and recovered.
After a review of the facts of the case, The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized
the charges listed below.

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
Corey Jackson,19, Rockford
Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle
Resisting Arrest
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Tyler Lawson, 31, Rockford

Armed Habitual Criminal
