Numerous reports of community members being shot by pellet guns.
Police label them as a battery in the logs, not as an aggravated battery.
We do know, many people have been reporting for awhile now.
They were shot or shot at, by a pellet gun.
Rockford Police Arrest Several Alleged Juveniles
That Have Allegedly Been Shooting Rockford Citizens
With Pellet Guns
Rockford Police officers have recently responded to multiple calls for service
regarding carloads of individuals shooting gel pellet guns at citizens. On Monday, May 27, 2024,
at approximately 5:10 a.m., Rockford Police officers located a vehicle in the 1400 block of Latham
Street that was allegedly involved in those calls, and a traffic stop was conducted. The vehicle had
five occupants, one adult, Joseph Holloway-Rockwell, and four juveniles. Officers also located and
recovered gel pellet guns and additional gel pellets.
After a review of the facts of the case, The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized
the charges listed below. Holloway-Rockwell was lodged in the County Jail and the four juveniles
were released to parents/guardians.

As with any investigations, further details and charges may come at a later date.
The charges are merely accusations and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
