We have received many reports of alleged large animal sightings.

It is that time of year again…

Several reports of 2 wild black bears that have
allegedly roaming the area once again.

Note: There have been a few recent reports of the alleged
mountain lion in the NE part of Winnebago County and NW part of Boone County.

And I lost count on how many turkey reports we have had.
Turkeys have been out in full force, LOL

There is a motto for bear encounters:
“Black fight back, brown get down, white good night.”

To put it in simple terms: 

• Black bear, be a hero and fight back. 
• Brown, get your ass down on the ground and cover your head
• White, well good night… 

As much as we like footage!
Please, do not go looking for the bear!

For that reason, I am not going to provide a specific area.
I will just say, most of the reports have been in the
Upper part of the country areas, of Winnebago County.

Now, there are reports coming out of the Madison area.
There was a black bear sighting a little bit ago tonight, in the Lake Mills area.

We are aware that there is a bear roaming around the Lake Mills area. Please keep your distance from the bear. Do not approach trying to take pictures and do not feed it. Keep your pets inside, lock up your pet food and avoid putting out bird seed. Also, keep your garbage cans inside if you can. Do not call 911, regarding the bear, unless you are in danger.

There have been NO reports of any attacks locally.

Not saying that it will not attack you.
It is a wild animal…

There was just an unprovoked wild black bear attack in AZ recently:

Just take extra precaution letting your pets out.
And if you plan on going out in the country areas alone.

It has been a few days, since there was a last report here locally.

My opinion, I am thinking the bear that was here,
Just moved to our North.  Or is there 2?

The reports here local and in the Lake Mills area.
Are all reported to be a Black Bear.

No. Most people who find themselves near a black bear are afraid, and they are not attacked. Black bears are not territorial toward people like some dogs are. Black bears are mostly afraid they will be attacked. If a person doesn’t want a black bear to come closer, act aggressively.
