Allegedly What May Have Happened: Possible Hit & Run Leaves A Man Dying On Roadway
Alleged Approx. Location: Samuelson Rd & Houston Rd
Alleged Approx. Time: 8:40 pm
We were hoping for a police release or something on this incident last night that was reported by many, many people in Rockford, but nothing has been released or confirmed as of yet, so we are writing what we know right now….
At approximately 8:40 last night emergency personnel were called to the area of Samuelson Road and Houston Road, in Rockford, for reports of a man laying in or near the roadway very close to death, at that time, dispatch over air stated that it was unknown what had happened.
Reports started coming in that the roadway was completely blocked off with multiple police personnel, multiple reports were of at least 20 police squads from WCSO/RPD were on scene with the police K-9 searching the area as well.
When medics arrived, cpr was being done to revive the man. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital by Rockford Medic 7 last night. His condition at this time is unknown.
Nothing has been confirmed or officially released as of yet, but after a little investigating we have come to the conclusion that this was a possible hit and run by a vehicle, leaving the pedestrian to die alone in the roadway.
Police call logs confirm multiple 911 calls to the location (Samuelson & Houston), they also confirm a police welfare check and most importantly, there is now a log stating this was a “medical traffic accident” meaning a auto accident that caused injuries requiring medical attention.
Clearly this man was not in a vehicle, so the only reasonable conclusion one can garner is that this was a pedestrian hit by a vehicle and that vehicle fled the scene.
It is unknown if he survived the injuries sustained.
We will add a update if further information comes available or if anything is officially released.
