Allegedly What May Have Happened: Shooting victim reported tonight, one alleged suspect in custody
Details are minimal at the moment, we will update as information becomes available.
At approximately 10:35 this evening, medical personnel from Rockford Fire were called to the BP gas station located at 542 N Lyford Road, for reports of a shooting victim with police at this location.
Initial reports are this shooting was possibly the result of an alleged pursuit with/involving Boone County. Winnebago County, Rockford Police and ISP were all said to have been assisting.
It is also being reported that an alleged suspect is in custody. It’s unclear if the suspect was only involved in the pursuit and/or is the alleged shooting suspect.
One person was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with at least one gunshot wound to the leg. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
Avoid the area awhile .
