A rare and sad occurrence tonight of two working structure fires reported at the same exact time in Rockford, stretching resources thin…

Tonight at approximately 7:35, emergency personnel were called to the 2900 block of Andrews Street for reports of a working structure fire at the residence. Crews are still on scene battling the fire.

Update: This fire is now under control and no injuries were reported.

At approximately 7:39 pm, another call came in for another structure fire, this one in the 1300 block of 29th Street.

Initial reports are a explosion was also reported at the time of the fire and possibly people and pets were trapped inside.

Update: Everyone was said to have made it out of the residence, still unclear if the pets made it out.

Smoke and flames were seen rising from the back of the building.

Crews are on that scene working hard as well.

Please avoid both areas awhile.

We will update as more information is made available.

Keep everyone involved in your thoughts tonight.

Reports are coming in of another possible structure fire in Rockford as I type this…

Update: Third possible fire was quickly out and under control, it was reported to have been a stove/oven fire from cooking. (1000 block of Grant Avenue)
