What May Have Allegedly Happened.

That has currently been provided to us.
A toddler is reportedly suffering serious injuries from gunshot wound(s) today in Roscoe.
Details are minimal at this time but the alleged incident happened at approximately 1:30 this afternoon in the 10000 block of Bitterroot Road in Roscoe.
Initial reports are the shooting victim is a two year old male child. The child was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with what are being described as serious, possibly life threatening injuries.
We will update as further information is released.
Please avoid the area as police investigate.
UPDATE from Roscoe PD:
On 10/26/2023 at 1:32pm, Roscoe Police were dispatched to the 10000 block of Bitterroot Rd
regarding a juvenile with a gunshot wound. During the course of the initial investigation it was
discovered a firearm was accidentally discharged by a family member inside of the residence
striking the juvenile in the leg. The juvenile was subsequently transported by ambulance to a
local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Richard J. Heimer, born 08/15/89, was
arrested at the scene for endangering the life & health of a child. This investigation is ongoing
however, there are no additional suspects involved in this incident. There is no danger to the
public.
