Murder Charges/Arrest and Public Assistance Needed
ROCKFORD, IL – On Saturday, September 9, 2023, at approximately 1:40 p.m., Rockford Police
officers responded to the 2500 block of Conklin Drive for reports of a gunshot victim. When
officers arrived, the 22-year-old victim, Jaquone Aldridge, was being transported to a local
hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries a short time
later.
Rockford Police Detectives continued to investigate the murder, and after a review of the facts of
the case, The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized the charges listed below.
Vondale Pearson, 20, Rockford Murder
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery
Alexander Dowthard, 19, Rockford Murder
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery
Juvenile Male, 17, Rockford Murder
Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery
Tavares Locke, 21, Rockford Obstructing Justice
Vondale Pearson is currently in custody. Tavares Locke was arrested on his charge as well. The
Rockford Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance with any information on the
whereabouts of 19-year-old Alexander Dowthard, who has an active arrest warrant for this case.
