Boone County Sheriff’s Office Release:
Fatal Accident in Boone County:
On Monday, September 11, 2023 at approximately 6:27 am, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, along with Boone County District #3 Fire, responded to an accident in the 1900 block of Hunter Rd.
Preliminary investigation shows that a Jeep Cherokee, being driven by Jacob N. Torgeson, 18 years old of Roscoe, IL, was traveling westbound on Hunter Rd. The vehicle left the roadway on the south side of the road, crossed over the roadway into the ditch on the north side, and overturned. Torgeson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Boone County Coroner’s Office assisted with the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
