1800 block of 18th ave

Time: 1:30 pm

Details are dynamic.

Initial reports are saying that emergency personnel are currently working a scene.

It begam as an odor investigation call.

Then it was upgraded to a possible HAZMAT situation.

Hazmat crew are en route to investigate

Winds are reported to be NE 5 mph

This is possibly at a nearby business.

Avoid the area for a bit.

Still developing.

Update Per City Of Rockford:

LEAK AT VIKING CHEMICAL: Rockford Fire is on the scene of a leak at Viking Chemical. We’re working to contain the leak and encouraging traffic to avoid the area until further notice.
