Juveniles Steal Multiple Vehicles in Winnebago County

On Sunday, June 4, 2023, Rockford Police officers responded to the 1500 block of
Huffman Boulevard for reports of a vehicle crashing into a house and two suspects fleeing.
Approximately an hour later, at 12:55 p.m., the two male juvenile suspects were located at N.
Rockton Avenue and Bruce Street. They were taken into custody and lodged in Juvenile
Detention. After further investigation, officers learned that the same two suspects allegedly stole
another vehicle earlier in the day, which was located, unoccupied, in the 600 block of N. Court
Street.

After a review of the facts of the case, The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed
the facts of the case, and authorized the charges listed below.

Juvenile Male, 16, Rockford
Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle

Juvenile Male, 14, Rockford
Possession of a Stolen Auto (2 counts)
Criminal Damage to Property (3 counts)
Hit and Run
Various Traffic Offenses
