Rockford FD Battled A Kitchen Fire On The West Side
It happened May 19th at approx. 8:30 pm
In the 2800 block of Knight ave.
3 Engines, 2 Ladder trucks, 1 ambo and 2 chiefs all responded.
In total, there were 22 firefighters that responded to the scene.
Initial reports were saying there was a possible structure fire.
Rockford FD responded quickly and confirmed a fire in the kitchen.
Firefighters were able to very quickly get the fire out.
Rockford FD investigators said the fire was under investigation,
But it is believed to have been caused by unattended cooking.
Rockford Firefighters were able to rescue the family cat.
The damages were believed to be approx. $10,000.00
The American Red Cross was assisting two adults with housing.
No injuries were reported.
