Show Your Support For Rockford Scanner!

Update: Police labeled this EXPLOSION, as a “suspicious incident”
Now we have to question,
how many of these other “suspicious incidents”,  are MAJOR incidents???

As of 6am Friday morning,
officials still have yet to release any information on this incident…

Update: Sources are reporting this explosion was a truck that was rigged to explode with propane tanks in the 4200 block of Mila Avenue. Still no word if anyone was injured. The male who allegedly rigged the explosion reportedly fled the area on foot.

We are getting multiple reports of a explosion that happened on the west side tonight.

It happened at around 9:00 this evening in the area of Auburn Street and N Springfield Avenue, a very loud explosion was heard then a overwhelming smell of sulfur in the area.

The fire departments on scene seem to be concentrating specifically in the 4300 block of Mila Avenue at the moment.

It is unknown if anyone has been hurt, nothing has been officially released as of yet.

We will update if/when we know more.
