Rockford Scanner™: Several Juveniles Arrested, While Police Investigate A Stolen Vehicle

On Sunday, July 17, 2022, at approximately 10:30
p.m., Rockford Police SCOPE officers observed a vehicle, reported stolen out of Elgin, in the area
of Whitman Street and Haskell Avenue.

The vehicle parked in an alley in the 600 block of Acorn Street, and as officers approached the vehicle,
they observed several occupants. The driver, a 15- year-old male, was detained, along with three juvenile female occupants.

The male front  passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot, and could not be located. From inside the vehicle,
SCOPE officers were also able to locate and recover a handgun with an extended magazine, plus
another handgun with a light attachment and additional ammunition.

The 15-year old driver was later lodged in Juvenile Detention.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and authorized
the charges listed below.

Juvenile Female, 15, Rockford Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle
