Rockford Scanner™: Several Attempted Kidnappings in Winnebago County Recently

If you have any information:

After we posted this, we got a report that one may have happened at the Target on 173.
(Alpine and 173)

We have several reports of an attempted kidnapping at a local Walmart.

Rockford PD and Walmart have both denied the incident.
But we have numerous reports of it happening…

Numerous reports are saying 3 black males attempted to kidnap a woman at the Walmart on Walton.

Thankfully the female was able to get the attention of 2 employees outside,
and 3 inside that came to her rescue.

We have 8 different reports of attempted kidnappings in Winnebago County, in the last 4 weeks.
3 of them at local Walmart stores.
3 at other local businesses.
1 at a local park.
1 as she walked along the roadway.

Police have not released any information, on any of the attempted kidnappings.

Suspect vehicle from this Walmart incident, was reported to have Nebraska plates.
Is believed to be either stolen, or a rental.

Another vehicle that has been described is a dark van with Penn. plates.

One of the suspects is described as a black male that is approx. 6’2,
grey in the beard, older and muscular build.

One thing I have learned from doing RS all these years.
Police have always denied the kidnapping reports.
But later on after the suspect is caught,
then admit it happened and a suspect has been detained.

I was told it was to “Not scare the public…” &
“Make it appear the crime is down, to boost the tourism and real estate”

Hopefully they will be transparent, and release information on all these attempted kidnappings…

Don’t you love police encryption and their transparency…
