VEHICULAR HIJACKING:
On Thursday, May 5, 2022, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Rockford Police
officers responded to the 500 block of W. State Street for a report of a vehicular hijacking. The
male victim advised that as he was walking to his vehicle, he was approached by four juveniles
who struck him multiple times and then fled in his vehicle.
The vehicle was located a short time
later in the 300 block of Longwood and as officers attempted to stop it, the six occupants fled on
foot. A short time later, officers were able to take five of the six occupants into custody.
After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized
the charges listed below.
