UPDATE: Rockford PD Release Information On The Murder of A 56 Year old Woman, in Rockford Last Night

Update from Rockford PD: 

ROCKFORD, IL – On Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers
responded to a residence in the 3500 block of Greendale for reports of shots fired and a
possible shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers observed the front of the house had been struck
multiple times by gunfire. The officers then located a 56-year-old female shooting victim, inside
the residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased a
short time later.

As with any and all investigations, further information and charges may follow at a later date.

 The 56-year-old female shot last night on Greendale Avenue has succumbed to her injuries.

Brief synopsis of what may have happened:

At approximately 10:05 this evening emergency personnel were called to the 3500 block of Green Dale Drive in Rockford for reports of a shooting.

One person was reportedly shot and has sustained life threatening injuries.

We will update when we receive further information.

Please avoid the area while police investigate.

Per RPD:

Shooting investigation in the 3500 block of Greendale Drive. Adult female has sustained life-threatening injuries. Please avoid the area while we investigate the incident.
