Update: Several Juveniles Arrested For Armed Robbery in Rockford

Rockford Juveniles Charged after Armed Robbery

ROCKFORD, Ill. – On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at approximately 3:50 p.m., the Rockford
Police Department responded to the area of S. Chicago Avenue and 2nd Avenue for reports of an
armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised that as two juvenile males were walking
home from school, they were approached by a vehicle with four occupants. Three of the four
occupants exited the vehicle, pointed guns at the victims, and demanded their personal property.

The suspects then fled in the vehicle (reported stolen out of Marengo). A short time later, the
vehicle was located in the 1900 block of N. Court Street and all four occupants fled on foot from
the vehicle. After a brief foot pursuit and with the assistance of a Rockford Police K-9, all four
suspects were located, taken into custody, and subsequently lodged in Juvenile Detention.
After a review of the facts of the case, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office authorized
the charges listed below.

The charges against them are merely accusations.

They are considered innocent unless proven
guilty in a court of law.
