Rockford Scanner™: Beloit Police Release Information On Yesterdays Death Investigation, Now A Homicide Investigation


 





 


Per Beloit Police:

On Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at approximately 12:10pm, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Madison Rd. in the City of Beloit for a person struck by gunfire.

Upon arrival, officers located a 31-year-old female from Beloit, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers administered first aid to the female until the City of Beloit Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the woman to a local hospital.

The woman later died from her injury at a local hospital. This death is being investigated as a homicide.

The Beloit Police Department currently has a suspect in-custody on charges of first degree homicide – domestic violence related and possession of a stolen firearm. The male has been identified as Anthony D. Richmond, 34, of Beloit.

The City of Beloit Police Department offers its condolences to the family of the victim.
