Shooting Victim: Stolen Vehicle Crashes Into A Parked Car, Shooting Victim Wanted On Warrant

AGGRAVATED BATTERY WITH A FIREARM: On Saturday, January 22, 2022, at
approximately 10:45 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to the 1300 block of
Ashland for reports of multiple shots fired.

When officers arrived to the area, they observed an unoccupied gray sedan (reported stolen out of Elgin, Illinois) that had
crashed into the rear of a parked car.

Witnesses advised they observed two males running from the vehicle and a short time later, officers located an 18-year-old male at
the BP Gas Station on Auburn and Central who had been struck in the shoulder/neck area with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim was wanted on an outstanding Wisconsin warrant for parole violation.

He was transported to a local hospital, but was transferred due to his injuries becoming more severe.

His condition is unknown at the time of this release.

As with any and all investigations, further information may be provided at a later date.
