Update 1/23/2022:

We have been told numerous vehicles have been stolen in the last 72 hours.
Officials have confirmed at least 16 different vehicles have been stolen since Friday, in Winnebago County.

RS sources sent us a few of those vehicles that have been stolen.

  • 2012 Red Toyota Prius this morning from Fas Fuel next to Cherry Valley Mall. License plate Y96-1688.
    Stolen by men in a white SUV
  • Black 2008 Pontiac G6 GT with Missouri dealer plates, and it’s a four door
    Taken from the corner of Latham and Fulton

If you have any information on any of these 16 stolen vehicles, or any other info. Call the police.
Rockford Police are providing tips on how to prevent  theft

What possibly may have happened, according to sources:  

Sources are reporting numerous vehicles have been stolen in Winnebago County. 

One victim said “Rockford reminds her of the movie “Gone in 60 seconds”

We can confirm several sources are reporting multiple vehicles have been stolen.

Local police reminds the citizens of Winnebago County,
to NOT leave your vehicles unattended while warming up their vehicles.

Criminals are stealing the vehicles and using the vehicles to commit crimes.

A few sources said the vehicles are being recovered out in the Chicago area.

Keep an eye on your surroundings.
Report any suspicious behavior to the police.
Do NOT leave your vehicles unlocked.
Do NOT leave your vehicle running, unattended.
