On Saturday, October 30, 2021, at approximately 9:55
a.m., Rockford Police officers heard shots fired in the 3200 block of N. Main Street.

During the investigation, officers were advised that as a 19-year-old male leaned into the driver side window
to speak with an elderly female, he was struck on the back of the head with an unknown object
and as he entered the passenger side of the vehicle, he heard multiple shots fired and was struck
in the arm and leg.

The driver, a 71-year-old female who was known to the victim, was not struck and transported the 19-year-old victim to a local hospital where he was treated for his non-life- threatening gunshot wounds.
