• Rockford Airport dipped to 36° this morning, the city’s first sub-40° reading of the season. This is the 2nd latest date for the first temperature in the 30s of the season, with the latest being October 20, 1911. 1990-2020 average date of the first temperature in the 30s of the season is September 27th.
• Rockford hasn’t yet had a high temperature less than 60° this season. Latest first high in 50s there: Oct 29, 1963; 2nd latest: 10/23/1949. Based on our forecast, the first 50s high this season is expected to be on Thursday 10/21 or Friday 10/22, which will be the 3rd latest such occurrence on record. 1990-2020 average first high in 50s of the season: September 27th.
