UPDATE: We were just told the Subway in the 1100 block of E State, has suspended this female employee, because of this incident. Still developing.
Brief Synopsis:
Sources are reporting a robbery attempt at a local Subway restaurant that went wrong for the would-be robber…
Source stated that shortly after 10:30 this morning, a man with a handgun attempted to rob the Subway located at 1120 E State Street in Rockford.
Source also stated a employee/employees fought with the man brandishing the firearm and were able to take his gun away and thwart his robbery attempt.
RPD hasn’t released any information on this incident yet, if and when they do we will do a update…
Police call logs do list an incident occurring at this time and at this location as a “In Progress Person Life Safety” and that police did request medical to this location after arrival.
