Rockford Scanner™: Man Arrested On Weapons Charges & Resisting Arrest




 

WEAPONS ARREST: On Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Rockford Police Patrol Officers observed an individual walking in the middle of 11th Avenue near 7th Street. When officers attempted to stop the male, he ran and discarded what was later determined to be a handgun. The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Marcus Stone was taken into custody in the 1200 block of 7th Street without incident.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charges against Stone.

Marcus Stone, 37, Rockford: Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Handgun, Resisting/Obstructing an Officer, No FOID

Stone was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The charges against Stone are merely accusations. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

 








 

Rockford Scanner™: Shooting Incident in Rockford, Police Investigating




At approximately 2:20 pm on July 31, 2019, officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to the area of Court St and King St in reference to a large group of males arguing in the street. As officers approached the area another call came in advising of shots being fired in the area of Auburn St and Evelyn St.

Officers determined that the subjects that had been arguing had relocated, and were the same subjects that were involved in the area where the shots were fired. Officers located spent shell casings in the area, and two unoccupied parked vehicles that were struck by gunfire.

Rockford Scanner™: Fatal Accident in Janesville

There is a fatal accident in Janesville.

The Janesville Police Department advises you to AVOID Holiday Dr. between Kennedy Rd and Sherwood Dr due to a fatal traffic crash


On 7/31/2019 at 8:49 am Janesville Police were called to a traffic accident with injury at Holiday Dr and Kennedy Rd. A 38 year old male was found deceased and pinned in his vehicle. The investigation found it was a two vehicle accident. One vehicle was in operation the other was legally parked.

The male was traveling west on Holiday Dr passing Sherwood Dr. in his vehicle. There was a legally parked and unoccupied SUV on the northwest side of the roadway near the intersection. The male crashed directly into the back of the SUV.

A Janesville Police Department Accident Reconstruction Officer, Identification Officer and Detectives responded to assist patrol officers with the investigation. There is additional information being followed up on to determine factors which lead to the cause of the accident. Since this investigation is still open and there are additional family members to be notified the name of the driver is not being releas ed at this point








 

Rockford Scanner™: Suspects Stealing Catalytic Converters In Loves Park/Machesney park Area




In recent weeks we have gotten several reports of suspects stealing the catalytic  converters off of vehicles in the Loves Park/Machesney park area.

Suspects are reported to be several black males in a dark colored truck (Suburban or similar)  with tinted windows.  They are stealing them overnight.  The older black male does the theft while all the younger black males stay inside the vehicle.

1 suspect gets out of the vehicle while the rest are inside the truck and are lookouts and security if needed for the suspect. Reports are saying they are armed with a duffel bag that has the tools and a gun in it.

The photo below the suspects were able to remove 2 bolts but unsuccessfully the 3rd bolt, To get the converter.

Reports are saying a local business  is buying these stolen catalytic converters. And are aware they are stolen. And still continue to buy them.

Rockford Scanner™: 5 Suspects Commit A Home Invasion, Get Away





 

On Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at 11:07 p.m. Rockford Police Officers were dispatched to a Home Invasion in the 800 block of Alliance Ave. The victim advised 5 black males 20-25 yoa, kicked a door in and entered the residence while armed with handguns.

Personal property was taken and the suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.
