Rockford Scanner™: One person just shot in Rockford, still developing

Sources are reporting a shooting victim in Rockford.

It happened a little after 10 PM tonight in the 100 block of Cameron Avenue.  That is near Concorde Commons.

Reports of several gunshots were heard in the area and at least one person has been struck by the gunfire.  There is one confirmed shooting victim, that was transported to a nearby hospital.  It is not yet known on the severity of the injuries at this time.  No suspect information.  This is still developing

From neighbors:  “We have been telling the new manager about the recent problems and the new manager has been ignoring the issue. And now look at what happened!  Someone has been shot and there is blood trail all over the place! This could have been prevented if the new manager would listen to the residents and our complaints”


Rockford Scanner™: Illinois Officer Fatally Shot

Today, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy Troy Chisum, 39 years of age, responded to a battery and disturbance call in Avon, IL.

During the incident, multiple shots were fired and Deputy Chisum was fatally injured as a result. Deputy Chisum was a four and a half year veteran of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. He was a paramedic with the Fulton County EMA and was a member of the West Central Special Response Team and the ILEAS WMD/SRT Team, Region 6.

Earlier today there was a rollover accident on the East side. 

During the accident, the victims dog got loose from the scene near Jefferson & E State today. Female, named KC, has chip, may be injured. Please contact 815-209-7609


Rockford Scanner™: Bus Hit in Rockford, Multiple Injuries Reported

This morning there was an accident with multiple injuries.

It happened near Riverside and Owen Center.

A bus that had the name “Peterson Meadows” on it, and another vehicle were involved in an accident near this location.  A pole was severed off.

Multiple injuries were reported. Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene.  The cause of the accident is under investigation. Witnesses are saying a vehicle pulled out in front of the bus, but not confirmed.


Rockford Scanner™: Several Mailboxes Damaged in Ogle County


On Sunday morning the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office took numerous reports of mailboxes being damaged, stolen and thrown through the window of a parked car on Flagg Road, Brooklyn Road and Gurler Road.

Police are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this damage.

 Ladder 2 and Engine 11 rescued Angie, the cat, who became trapped behind a wall at 3000 7th Street.

Crews worked with the owners to remove siding and cut concrete to remove this very scared and hungry cat!‬
