BURGLARY ARREST: On Monday, February 11, 2019 shortly after 4:00 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to a valid burglary alarm at Flamingo Slots, 7521 Walton Street. When they arrived, officers learned that an unknown suspect had broken into the business in an attempt to remove money from the gambling machines. It appeared as though nothing was missing and the suspect fled without obtaining any money.

A short time later, SCOPE officers located a potential suspect in the 3400 block of Latham Street. Detectives from the Financial & Property Crimes Unit conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident. The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and authorized the below listed charge against the suspect, Michael Fryer Jr.

Michael Fryer Jr., 36, Rockford: Burglary

Detectives are investigating the possibility that Fryer may be involved in other recent burglaries, similar in nature.

Fryer was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail on a $250,000 bond. The charge against Fryer is merely an accusation. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
