Rockford Scanner™: Two Men Shot At A Party In Rockford



On 07/05/2018 at 12:33 AM Rockford Police Officers responded to 1400 4th Avenue reference shots fired. 

Within moments 2 adult male shooting victims arrived at a local hospital advising they had been struck by gunfire while attending a party in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue. 

Both victims are being treated for non life threatening injuries. 

Information gathered by Rockford Police Officers indicates a suspect vehicle in this matter is a black Dodge Challenger or Charger.

Rockford Scanner™: Victim Eye Is Injured, After A Fireworks Accident in Rockford

Update from the mother:  THIS WAS MY DAUGHTER and it was NOT OUR FIREWORKS that caused her injury. A neighborhood child was shooting illegal fireworks in front of our home. She didn’t even see it coming. Her eye is fine. She has a laceration of her eyelid and will heal in a week or so. She is LUCKY. If her eye was open she would have lost her eye.

UPDATE: The victim is a 8 year old female. 

Around 8 pm tonight several emergency personnel were responding to a fireworks accident in Rockford

It happened in the area of the 2600 block of Bildahl. 

Reports of a fireworks accident near this location. 

A person was injured by fireworks. 

The victims eye is injured. 

Several emergency personnel are en route, including an inspector. 



Rockford Scanner™: Motorcycle Accident With Injuries, Plus Several Other Accidents In The Area




Several sources have reported many accidents in the area today. 

#1 A motorcycle has crashed on Montague and Hoisington. At least one person was reporting injuries. Unknown on the severity of the injuries. 

#2 Multiple vehicle accident in the area of Perryville and Charles. Unknown on injuries. 

#3  Harlem and Alpine there was an accident with injuries.

Rockford Scanner™: Police K-9 Bites Rockford Carjacking Suspect.




VEHICULAR HIJACKING: On July 5, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Rockford Police responded to the 4000 block E. State for a report of vehicular hijacking.

Shortly thereafter officers saw the vehicle stolen in the carjacking traveling westbound over the Whitman Street Bridge but lost sight of it. Several minutes’ later officers found the car in the 100 block of Royal Avenue.

Two suspects, a juvenile male and adult male, fled from the car on foot. After short foot pursuits by Rockford officers and Winnebago County deputies both suspects were apprehended.

The adult was taken to the hospital for minor injuries sustained by a K9 bite. A handgun was recovered on scene.

The investigation is on-going and further information will be released when available.

Around 5:30 pm tonight several emergency personnel were responding to an accident with injuries in Rockford. 

It happened in the area of Mulford rd and Mulford Village. 

Injuries were being reported. Unknown on the severity. 

Avoid the area.

Rockford Scanner™: Another Shooting Victim in Rockford. Suspects Shoot Victim During A Robbery in Rockford

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm
Date: 07/05/2018 1:01 am
Location: Ridge Av. & Paradise Blvd.

On 7-5-2018 at approximately 1:01 AM Officers from the Rockford Police Department responded to Rockford Memorial Hospital reference to a walk-in gunshot victim.

Officers met with the victim who stated he was driving near the intersection of Ridge Av. & Paradise Blvd. looking for a friend’s house when he was approached by two younger black males, late teens, one taller than the other (unable to provide further description) .

The victim stated the one of the suspects pulled a handgun and pointed it at him and stated it was a robbery. The victim stated he accelerated away from the suspects and the suspect fired one round from the handgun.

The victim was struck in the upper chest and he drove himself to the hospital for treatment for a non-life threatening injury.

Rockford Fire Department is battling another house fire. 

This one happened in the area of the 1800 block of Harrison. 

Unknown on injuries.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
