Accident with injuries near Mulford and Harrison ave just before 8 pm tonight.

Three vehicles are involved.  One vehicle allegedly ran the red light and caused the accident. Injuries were being reported. A driver of a vehicle was trying to flee the scene on foot, carrying a small baby.

We are being told there is a massive police presence working a scene on I-90 near the Belvidere Oasis.

We been told it appears they have stopped a vehicle that is possibly related to the murder in Rockford.  (Unconfirmed)

Officers from ISP, Boone, Winnebago and Rockford are all on scene according to witnesses

At 4:26 pm today, Melanie Fay Sawdey said: “I just passed by the Oasis on I-90 & there is nothing going on there.”

UPDATE:

MURDER INVESTIGATION: On Saturday, February 16, 2019, shortly after 11:00 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to a residence in the 3200 block of 9th Street. Upon arrival, officers located one deceased adult female, and a second adult female who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured female was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The incident is under investigation as a murder. At this point, it is believed the suspect and the victims knew each other.

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department are on scene. The investigation is active and on-going. Anyone with information should contact Rockford Police at 815-966-2900 or leave an anonymous tip with Rockford Area CrimeStoppers at 815-963-7867.


This is a confirmed shooting, one person is confirmed dead (possibly more).

Police do know who the suspect is. The suspect is on the loose currently in the streets of Rockford.

We been told a white male, approx. 37 years old, last seen in a light colored  vehicle, possibly Silver.  The victim/suspect knew each other, and there was an order of protection between the two.

Sources said there are children who live there, it is unknown on the childrens well being at this time.

RPD is encrypted and have yet to release any kind of information.


Sources are reporting numerous emergency personnel, crime scene tape, crime scene unit in Rockford

It happened in the neighborhood of 9th st. Sawyer to Roosevelt is blocked off.

Approx 30 police officers are on scene according to witnesses.
Witnesses also are reporting emergency personnel had a body covered up at the scene, and was carrying it on a stretcher.

We have been told this is a shooting and/or a murder scene, but RPD is super quiet on this incident right now and will not say anything.

So at this time, we can not yet confirm that. We can only confirm numerous emergency personnel are working a scene near this location.

Around 3 am this morning several units from the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a duplex that was possibly on fire at an address in the 1400 block of Blaisdell st in Rockford.

A young teen was saying there is a fire in the upper half of the duplex.

Her family is on the first floor.  People are still inside on the 2nd floor.

Fire and smoke are showing from the Bravo side of the structure.

At the time of writing this,  the family in the upstairs was reported to still be inside.

Still developing.

UPDATE: RFD said at 3:10 am, they believe the structure is clear of life. Unknown on injuries.

Sources are reporting another robbery and also shots fired in Rockford.

Another robbery in Rockford around 10:30 pm in the 1200 block of 7th st.

Shots were fired near the following locations: 2700 block of Prial ave and also in the 2900 block of Halsted.

We have been told there are shooting victims that self transported to a local ER.

RPD has confirmed weapons violations, but no shooting victims yet.

No suspect information, due to the encryption.

Sources are reporting a rollover accident in Rockford.

It happened around 12:40 am this morning on N Second st, near Whitman st.  A vehicle has rolled over near this location and the occupants are trapped. Extrication is being requested to cut the victims out of the vehicle. Several people are in the vehicle, possibly children in the vehicle. Unknown on the severity of the injuries. Still developing.

UPDATE:   Sources said the robbery happened at the Walgreens across the street and the victim went to the hospital, and that is where RPD met the victim. Still no suspect information at this time


Sources were reporting a robbery call at Swedish American Hospital earlier tonight around 7:30 pm

Rockford Police have confirmed they had a strong armed robbery call at 1401 E State st, Swedish American Hospital.

Unknown if it happened at the hospital, or at a different location and that is where police met the victim.

No other information is available at this time.
