WEEKEND INCIDENTS SUMMARY:

SHOTS FIRED: On Sunday, January 27, 2019, shortly after 8:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 400 block of North Horsman Street. Upon arrival, officers located two vehicles struck by gunfire. No one was hurt. The suspect vehicle is described a silver sedan.


SHOTS FIRED: On Saturday, January 26, 2019 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Rockford Police officers were called to the 2300 block of Jonathon Avenue in reference to shots fired. Officers located a vehicle and garage struck by gunfire. No one was hurt. No suspect information is available.


ARMED ROBBERY: On Saturday, January 26, 2019 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Rockford Police officers responded to an armed robbery that took place in the parking lot of Schnucks (2642 Charles Street). Officers learned the victim used the ATM inside the business. As he was leaving, an armed male suspect approached the victim in the parking lot. The suspect then demanded the victim’s money and phone. The victim was not hurt. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’7”, 150 pounds and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.


SHOTS FIRED: On Saturday, January 26, 2019 at approximately 3:45 a.m., Rockford Police officers were called to the 900 block of 17th Street in reference to shots fire. Officers observed a building and a vehicle had been struck by gunfire. No one was hurt.

On 11/11/18 at 9:37 pm Rockford Police Officers responded to the 2100 and 2200 block of Lawndale Ave for a report of gunshots fired and a house struck by gunfire.

Officers located two residences, which were occupied, to be struck by gunfire. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Rockford Scanner™: One Person Just Shot in Rockford, Still Developing



 

On Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 5:28 PM members of the Rockford Police Department responded to the 2900 block of Chatham Ln in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival officers located a 31 year old male who sustained a gunshot wound to the knee.

The victim indicated he had no idea he was even injured but heard the sound of gunfire prior to discovering he was struck..

Preliminary investigations has develop no leads as to the cause of this incident.

Injuries sustained by the victim are not life threatening.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to call the Rockford Police Department or Crimestoppers

 


Around 5:30 pm several emergency personnel were responding for a shooting victim in Rockford.

It happened in the area of the 2900 block of Chatham

At least one person has been shot near this location.

Unknown on the severity of the injuries or suspect information at this time.

Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

On Saturday, May 19th, at around 5:40 AM, Officers responded to a local Hospital reference a shooting victim.  A Rockford woman advised that she was walking in the 800 block of N Johnston Ave when she was struck by gunfire.  The victim got a ride to a local hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries.  This is an ongoing investigation.  Anyone with information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact the Rockford Police Officer In Charge (OIC) at 779 500 6555, or CrimeStoppers at 815 963 STOP (7867).


Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

On Saturday, May 19th, at around 1:00 A.M., a Rockford man was the victim of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm when he was struck by gunfire in the 500 block of Webster Ave.  The victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries.  This is an ongoing investigation.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Rockford Police Department, or CrimeStoppers.
