On Friday afternoon, October 14, 2016, officers were dispatched to Sonic Drive Inn, 1602 E. Riverside Blvd., reference a report of an armed robbery. An employee of the business, Kendra P. Bogardus (19) of Loves Park, reported that a man armed with a knife, robbed her. The man alegedly purchased food with a credit card, prior to the robbery.
Investigators tracked down the owner of the credit card & the 57-year old man who used the credit card to purchase food on that afternoon. After interviewing the alleged suspect, Bogardus was charged with filing a false police report.
The charges are merely allegations & the defendant is considered innocent, unless proven guilty in a Court of Law.
Around 12:37 pm today several officers were dispatched to Sonic on E Riverside in reference to an armed robbery. The suspect robbed the place, of $5 worth of food. He robbed them with a knife. Sounds like he attempted to stab an employee, but not confirmed.
Suspect is described as a white male with grey shaggy hair, stubbly beard, button down shirt and jeans and driving a work truck with lights and silver tool box on it.
RS Fan : The suspect purchased almost $70 of food with a credit card (possibly stolen). When the young lady brought the food to the car, the suspect pulled a knife and demanded any cash she had on her. She had $5 of her own money that was taken from her.
RS Fan: The suspect didn’t steal food. He ordered food and held the carhop at knife point and stole her money.
