Launch time: 12:15 AM EDT (0415 UTC/GMT) Launch site: SLC-41, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida Destination: Geostationary orbit A United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket, designated AV-073, will launch the fourth Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite. Built by Lockheed Martin, this U.S. military spacecraft will provide highly-secure communications. The rocket will fly in the 551 vehicle configuration with a five-meter fairing, five solid rocket boosters and a single-engine Centaur upper stage. Delayed from Dec. 15, 2016. Delayed from Jan. 26, May 4, June 22, June 29 and Oct. 11, 2017. Delayed from July 2018. Moved up from Oct. 18. Delayed from Oct. 4.

HRFD: Harlem-Roscoe Firefighters responded to Chandan Blvd. in Machesney Park for a fully involved garage fire at 3:12 pm today (Oct. 16). The fire had traveled to the neighbor’s house as well. Firefighters, with the help of responding MABAS crews made a great stop and extinguished the fire. The fire is believed to have started in the area by the dryer. The State Fire Marshal was dispatched to the scene and is investigating the fire. The residents and the neighbors are being assisted by the Red Cross. A resident was home at the time of the fire but was able to get out with the family pets. More info and photos will be posted on the department website tomorrow. George Bower: AROUND 3PM HARLEM ROSCOE WAS DISPATCHED FOR A STRUCTURE FIRE ON CHANDAN BLVD. UNITS AT BURDEN RD AND 173 NOTIFIED DISPATCH TO PULL A MABAS CAUSE HEAVY SMOKE WAS SHOWING. THE BOX WAS PULLED AND SEVERAL FIRE DEPTS. CAME TO HELP. BOX WAS STRUCK AT 434PM. HEAVY DAMAGE TO HOUSE ON FIRE AND DAMAGE TO NEIGHBORS HOUSE.

Rockford Scanner™: Man Steals 2 Computers From Walmart, Police Need Your Help Locating The Suspect

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, around 3 a.m., an unknown male entered the Walmart on Milwaukee Road and left the store without paying for two computers. The male walked back to where the computers were held and selected two HP All-In-One computers and placed them in his cart. The male walked around the store for a short amount of time before he took off running with the cart out of the main entrance.

The man in question appears to be a white male, thin build, in his 20s or 30s with a beard. He was wearing a dark hoodie, a baseball cap and blue jeans. After leaving the store the suspect got into a white or grey older model vehicle that looked similar to a Buick Park Avenue. The license plate was not able to be recovered from the vehicle.

RPD confirmed that Todd Frederick Swanson III has been arrested for several charges that included aggravated battery to a person over 60 years old, Public Indecency, etc… in the  2100 block of 22nd St. and his bail is $10.000 and his court date is set for 11/15/2018 09:00

Sources reporting a house fire on the East side

It happened in the 1200 block of 9th ave around 4:45 am

Flames are showing, they believe the residence is occupied and people are inside.

When the RFD arrived, flames were showing. They located a dog on the first floor and are currently searching for people inside the burning house.

UPDATE: People were inside he house, but are injured thanks to a citizen that was walking by and noticed the fire coming from the upstairs window and knocked on their door to notify the family. Estimated damage is approx. $10,000.00.  The RFD were able to quickly get the fire under control.

On Monday, October 15, 2018 at 12:53AM, a 911 call was received from Barron, WI. Upon arrival law enforcement found 2 adults deceased, and their 13 year old daughter, Jayme Closs, missing, and is considered endangered. It happened in the 600 block of Congress ave in Polo.

They toned out a MABAS to the box alarm and several area fire departments were responding to assist.

Unknown on injuries.

Suspicious Vehicle Near Elementary School

Janesville: On 10/15/18 at 8:00 AM, four female elementary students from Van Buren School reported that an unidentified stranger had made verbal contact with them, from a passing vehicle, and had asked them if they needed a ride to school.

All four girls were walking west to school near the intersection of W. State St. and S. Oakhill Av. The four girls reported that they ran to an adult crossing guard, just south of this intersection, and reported the incident to school authorities.

School administration and police have contacted the girl’s parents.

The male was described:
M/W, dark hair, shadowed beard, late 20’s to mid-30’s, driving a dark colored gray or blue SUV. The vehicle left traveling west after the girls ran away.

Students and staff at East High School briefly evacuated the building this morning after a faulty sensor was triggered in the building.

The Fire Department investigated and found no fire.

Students and staff remain safe, and the school day will continue as scheduled. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
